From Algeria to Israel, a name that still sings.
One life, quietly lived. A legacy his family carries out loud.
Halfa Gaston Ben Moni was born in Algeria, into a Jewish community with deep roots and long memory. When antisemitism rose and life there grew impossible, he did what generations before him had only dreamed of. He made aliyah and brought his family home to Israel.
He was taken young. But the family he planted grew large, and it grew loud in the best way: with music. His son is the singer Benny Elbaz. His grandson carries his very name, Gaston Gad Elbaz, known to the world as Gad Elbaz, whose voice reaches millions.
This Living Profile turns that legacy into action. Every day, a real act of tzedakah is carried out in his honor, l'ilui nishmato, elevating his soul. A man who gave his family everything keeps giving still.
